Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit-- just as you were called to one hope when you were called-- one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:2-6
Why Password Protect?
There are a number of reasons, and I hope to point you to some internet resources on the issue.
Here is a quick summary:
- Security. Vulnerability, openness, transparency, and honesty are good; but not at the expense
of common sense. For example, suppose we wanted to post a schedule of activities for the week.
This would identify when we would be at home or possibly when our kids (in a few years) might
be home alone. Not good.
- Friendship. If we are willing to share anything with anybody, what does that say about
the level of personal intimacy we can have with our friends and family. Nevertheless, for people
that we only know through the Internet and/or distant relatives or long-lost friends, it is our
hope that you too will sign up for an account so that we can share with you and stay in touch
and get to know you better.
- Convenience. Having user accounts allows me to display to you a listing of comments
that you have made so that you can easily jump back to a blog to see if anybody has responded to your
comments. Additionally, your name and email address for comments will be filled in with default
values that you can change if desired each time you post a comment.
