We’re glad you found this page! We are going to Le\u00f3n, Nicaragua for a family mission trip from December 29 to January 11. Brian and I are so excited to share with everyone on this journey. Check back to this page for updates during our trip! It\u2019s awfully scary and overwhelming to think about this in several ways (financially, physically, emotionally). Traveling with 2 preschoolers is going to be hard, and though I know Nicaragua well, I\u2019ve never experienced it with kids.<\/p>\n
In case you\u2019re just hearing this\u2026 we\u2019ve been wanting to go back and visit my old home and mission field for a while. Our dear friends Andrew & Jane Longley are running a ministry called Nuevas Esperanzas<\/a>, which took over some of the work I was a part of with Mercy Ships<\/a>. Financially, this doesn\u2019t seem like the most opportune time, but when God calls, it\u2019s up to you to step out and follow His leading. So we\u2019re taking him on His word that He\u2019ll provide financially to make this trip a reality, and we\u2019re trusting that He\u2019s got exciting things in store for us as a family.<\/p>\n Already we\u2019re seeing His hand in this. Our tickets were a bit cheaper than we expected. There was discussion about possibly driving to Miami (12 hours) to fly from there because it was much cheaper. But we found good tickets from Atlanta (just 2 hours!), so that saves us quite a few hours in the car. We also invited our good friend, Abigail, to come with us. She\u2019s been my \u201cright-hand woman\u201d since Josiah was born, and she babysits the kids weekly. She\u2019ll be a great help with the kids, and I\u2019m so excited to get to share Nicaragua with her! Nicaragua and the people there are so very dear to my heart.<\/p>\n
