{"id":1147,"date":"2009-02-08T22:23:00","date_gmt":"2009-02-09T03:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.toonesalive.com\/blog\/family\/?p=1147"},"modified":"2009-02-08T22:23:00","modified_gmt":"2009-02-09T03:23:00","slug":"on-the-menu-for-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.toonesalive.com\/blog\/family\/?p=1147","title":{"rendered":"On the menu for this week&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just thought I&#8217;d pop in and share what&#8217;s going to be cookin&#8217; this week&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A<a href=\"http:\/\/crockpot365.blogspot.com\/2009\/02\/asian-peanut-butter-pork-crockpot.html\" target=\"_blank\">sian Peanut Butter Pork<\/a> &#8211; from one of my very favorite websites, A Year of Crockpotting.\u00a0 Brian&#8217;s going to LOVE this, as anything Asian with peanuts is his favorite.<\/li>\n<li>Hopefully, I&#8217;ll have leftover pork for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.workitmom.com\/bloggers\/orderingdisorder\/2009\/01\/29\/pork-fried-rice-chinese-style\/\">Pork Fried Rice Chinese Style<\/a> (apologies to dear friend, Corrie, who makes lovely fried rice, and I&#8217;m sure this isn&#8217;t very authentic, but it looks easy!!)<\/li>\n<li>Some yummy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.momadvice.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/simple-oatmeal-chocolate-chip-muffins.htm\">Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins<\/a>, possibly the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insanitytheory.net\/kitchenwench\/a-little-bit-of-naughty-a-little-bit-of-nice\/\">Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins<\/a> that I didn&#8217;t get to make last week, as I&#8217;ve got a pile of bananas browning on my counter.\u00a0 (I&#8217;d prefer the oatmeal, but should probably make the banana.\u00a0 Last week, I really WANTED the banana chocolate chip, but went with the healthier blueberry banana muffins.\u00a0 Of course, I&#8217;ll probably go with what I *should* make&#8230; )<\/li>\n<li>Some form of cupcakes, with some special Valentine&#8217;s decorating help from Analise for Life Group on Wednesday.<\/li>\n<li>Our friends, the Kawells, are coming for dinner on Thursday&#8230; all 8 of them!\u00a0 We&#8217;re celebrating our Nicaragua trip and Abigail&#8217;s 17th birthday.\u00a0 I&#8217;m making <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toonesalive.com\/blog\/family\/?p=329\">Spicy Sour Cream Chicken<\/a> in the crockpot, and we&#8217;re having <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Banana-Milk-Drink\/Detail.aspx?prop31=2\">Banano con Leche<\/a> (banana milk) for dessert.\u00a0 This dreamy drink, served over ice, is served at a restaurant in Leon, and Abigail and I enjoyed it together on our last day there.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ll possibly make this savory <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amateurgourmet.com\/2006\/08\/a_say_say_savor.html\" target=\"_blank\">Carmelized Onion and Cheese Quiche<\/a> for the weekend.\u00a0 Maybe even 2&#8230; one to freeze \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li>Lastly, I&#8217;m putting homemade pizza on the menu about once every 2 weeks.\u00a0 I intended to rotate through various crust recipes, but we have settled happily into this delicious <a href=\"http:\/\/www.momadvice.com\/blog\/2008\/09\/notebook-experiments-can-i-make-deep.htm\">Deep Dish Pizza Crust<\/a> recipe.\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t pinned down my exact sauce recipe, as I toss it together on the stovetop by taste.\u00a0 But we sure enjoy our homemade pizza, and I enjoy knowing it&#8217;s a night I don&#8217;t have to think about what to make!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just thought I&#8217;d pop in and share what&#8217;s going to be cookin&#8217; this week&#8230; Asian Peanut Butter Pork &#8211; from one of my very favorite websites, A Year of Crockpotting.\u00a0 Brian&#8217;s going to LOVE this, as anything Asian with peanuts is his favorite.
