{"id":1177,"date":"2009-02-21T22:23:33","date_gmt":"2009-02-22T03:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.toonesalive.com\/blog\/family\/?p=1177"},"modified":"2009-02-21T22:23:33","modified_gmt":"2009-02-22T03:23:33","slug":"whats-cookin-food-in-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.toonesalive.com\/blog\/family\/?p=1177","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s Cookin&#8217; &#8211; Food in Review!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple weeks ago, I shared my cooking plans.\u00a0 I wanted to come back and let you know how it all turned out&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/crockpot365.blogspot.com\/2009\/02\/asian-peanut-butter-pork-crockpot.html\" target=\"_blank\">Asian Peanut Butter Pork<\/a> &#8211; I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this!\u00a0 The onions (which I don&#8217;t normally like) were very milk, the peanut butter flavor wasn&#8217;t overwhelming, and the lime took the edge off the sweetness. The meat was falling apart when we were ready to eat, and I just shredded it.\u00a0 Brian didn&#8217;t even recognize it was pork tenderloin! I served it with rice noodles, and it was a HUGE hit with Brian.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.workitmom.com\/bloggers\/orderingdisorder\/2009\/01\/29\/pork-fried-rice-chinese-style\/\">Pork Fried Rice Chinese Style<\/a> &#8211; This was ok.\u00a0 It came together quickly, and I liked it.\u00a0 But Brian would have prefered another night of the Peanut Butter Pork.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.momadvice.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/simple-oatmeal-chocolate-chip-muffins.htm\">Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins<\/a> &#8211; These were tasty.\u00a0 VERY dense.\u00a0 It felt like I was eating an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie for breakfast&#8230; without the guilt \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.insanitytheory.net\/kitchenwench\/a-little-bit-of-naughty-a-little-bit-of-nice\/\">Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins<\/a> &#8211; These were ok for me, great for Brian.\u00a0 Too much banana for my liking, but he loved them.<\/li>\n<li>Some form of cupcakes, with some special Valentine&#8217;s decorating help from Analise for Life Group on Wednesday.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toonesalive.com\/blog\/family\/?p=329\">Spicy Sour Cream Chicken<\/a> &#8211; Probably unnecessary to even rate this, but it was a big hit.\u00a0 Two bags of chicken tenderloins (doubling the recipe), black beans, and taco toppings was plenty for a dinner of 10.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Banana-Milk-Drink\/Detail.aspx?prop31=2\">Banano con Leche<\/a> &#8211; Everyone loved them, and Brian is now asking me to make them.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amateurgourmet.com\/2006\/08\/a_say_say_savor.html\" target=\"_blank\">Carmelized Onion and Cheese Quiche<\/a> &#8211; I just finally made this last night.\u00a0 Wow.\u00a0 This is a melt-in-your-mouth quiche.\u00a0 Seriously, seriously good.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.momadvice.com\/blog\/2008\/09\/notebook-experiments-can-i-make-deep.htm\">Deep Dish Pizza Crust<\/a> &#8211;
